Kalafrana Cottage

This quaint cosy fisherman’s cottage has been loved by one family for just over 100 years. Steeped in family history this cottage retains many of its original features but has been lovingly renovated to a high standard for a comfortable stay.

Tucked away in Downalong it is only a minute’s walk to the Harbour, galleries, beaches and restaurants.

Kalafrana welcomes pets and if required secure parking is offered free with your booking. This is an ideal location for a family holiday.

Step in through the front door into the lounge you will find a Smart TV, DVD player, and seating for four.

In the lounge cupboard you will find a travel cot if needed.

Taking the steps down to the ground floor you will find the kitchen diner, formally used as the fish cellar family’s fishing business.

This cottage style kitchen has a country feel with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, coffee percolator, microwave, and Smart TV are also provided.

There is a separate utility room housing a washing machine, wash basin and WC. 

Upstairs in the lounge there are  two retractable stair gates fitted on the stairs for the little ones.

The stairs from the lounge take you up to the first floor where you will find the double bedroom with Smart TV and plenty of storage space.

The family bathroom is located on the first floor and comprises of a walk-in shower, WC and wash hand basin.

Up a further flight of stairs you will find the attic bedroom which was formally used as a net loft. It now has twin beds, TV and DVD player plus a sea view from skylight if your tall enough.

St Ives is a world-renowned holiday destination with numerous attractions that never fails to delight visitors.

You can explore the small, cobbled streets enjoying the multitude of individual shops. 

The quaint Downalong area bordering the harbour and bedecked in flowers throughout the summer allows visitors to step back in time and reflect on St Ives’ fishing heritage.

St Ives is ringed by magnificent award winning beaches offering visitors safe bathing and various activities including surfing, diving, boat trips and fishing. 

There are many superb restaurants specialising in fresh seafood. The town is famous as an art centre. Many artists have been drawn to the area and the town hosts the Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth museum.

Getting around there are many attractions in St Ives that can be reached on foot.

These include: The Tate, The Barbara Hepworth Museum, The South West Coast Path. 

All the beaches are within easy reach. 

A car will allow you to explore West Cornwall and the following are all within a few miles: Land's End, The Minnack Theatre, The St Just Mining World Heritage Site, St Michael's Mount.
